Gain Muscle Mass - Gain Weight Without Getting Fat

But losing weight is not a resolution, it is a RESULT. It is the result of making specific changes in the way you eat, move, and live. So this year, instead of setting a goal to lose an arbitrary number of pounds, inches, or clothing sizes, resolve to think differently about eating, physical activity, and living.

So, I thought it might be helpful for others if I shared my easy tricks of getting more protein into my food choices each day. It doesn't have to be complicated, just do what you can with what you have, and pretty soon you will be a protein eating pro!

Meats like, chicken paprikash, beef and pork contain about 7-10 grams of protein per ounce. The leaner the meat, the more the protein content. Eggs contain about 6g of protein per egg, which means you'd need to eat a 5 egg breakfast to get 30g of protein in your diet. A typical 8oz flank steak with 7g of protein will net you about 56g of protein and a 6oz chicken breast will give you 42g of protein. Eating a diet like this every day will give the novice bodybuilder about 120g of protein per day.



Then it was time to heat up dinner. I followed the instructions of the woman who rang up my purchases and loosened the lids of the containers before popping them in the microwave one at a time for 3 minutes each. Each one came out hot, steaming and ready to eat.

There's plenty of meat, from authentic Italian (chicken "parm"/parmesan) to authentic Hungarian (chicken paprika chicken with "nokedli" or homemade noodles).

Like a privileged first child in an ambitious family with excellent connections, Apiary has a top of the line nursery - slick modern design by partner Ligne Rosset, starring whimsical trompe l'oeil sconces and the company's own sleekly squared side chairs upholstered whole chicken boiled deep jewel colors - garnet, amethyst, graphite, cat's eye, or shall I say, beet, eggplant, braised veal and chocolate. Managing partner Jenny Moon left Korea at 15 for this destiny - an American education, a degree in finance from Cornell's hotel and restaurant school, then risk arbitrage on Wall Street, and finally, following her real passion to Restaurant Daniel's skybox as Boulud's executive assistant, finally, a stop at Eighty One, even while hatching Apiary.

All-American meatloaf is stuffed with portobello mushrooms which add heft and earthiness. The Hungarian Beef Goulash comes alive with a judicious use of paprika paprika chicken slow cooker, pungent onions and sweet roasted red peppers. And a seemingly harmless Nicoise Salad has it's fat cut down from 28 grams to a more manageable 5.3 grams.

You see in January, motivation is at it's peak. January is the month where people tell themselves they're going to stay consistent, lose weight, eat better, etc. The sad reality for most is, however, those aspirations are a high priority for about a month, or maybe two for the really dedicated bunch. Shortly after March, the weight room has shifted back to it's empty state. Even in a town full of youth and where appearance is of high value, Hollywood is no exception to this annual phenomenon.

Now it is time to put together your bean salad. A combination of chick peas, white beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and sliced onions is one of the tastiest and most filling salads you will ever eat. Flavor it with mint, parsley, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a dressing of olive oil and lemon or lime juice. This is just one combination in thousands or millions of potential bean salads. Try adding them to your whole foods diet.
